CHCF is proud to announce that it will co-host the World Forum 2010!

World Forum 2010 will be a four-day long international summit co-hosted by CHCF and the International Forum for Child Welfare (IFCW), a world organization comprised of non-governmental organizations with special interest in child welfare, from November 8, 2010 to November 11, 2010. The co-chairs of the event are CHCF Executive Director Elba Montalvo and Matilda Raffa Cuomo, Former First Lady of New York State (1983-1995), Founder and Chairperson Mentoring USA-Mentoring USA/Italia. Montalvo also serves on the IFCW's Executive Committee as Secretary.

Leaders of IFCW member organizations, as well as other institutions and individuals will come together to share experience, knowledge, latest developments, and concern about child welfare with the goal of improving the well being of children all over the world.

 

World Forum 2010 will highlight practical and innovative solutions, cutting-edge research and evidence-based practices and development of new strategies to address the emerging challenges. The theme of this year's conference is “A World Fit for Children: Advancing the Global Movement.”

IFCW is founded on respect for children’s rights and committed to responding to their needs. Comprised of leading child welfare organizations throughout the world, the IFCW believes that by strengthening the capacity of organizations through leadership development, identification and exchange of effective practice and promoting collaborative partnerships, the well being of children can be significantly improved.
 

Our mission is to work for children worldwide to improve the quality of their lives, and to enhance opportunities for the development of their full potential.

 

This mission represents a commitment by IFCW's Members to work for the fulfillment of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in every nation and is to be achieved through the strengthening of nongovernmental child welfare organisations (NGOs) worldwide in their direct and indirect service to children and families by:

  • Organizing and improving information exchange and cooperation among members.
  • Educating world opinion on the interest and well-being of children.
  • Promoting and organizing conferences, seminars and study groups.
  • Cooperating with other recognized bodies having similar objectives.
