The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families, NYLAG, NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, Latino Justice, and NYC Assemblyman Michael A. Blake united on September 25th to inform members of the Bronx Community about how DACA affects them, and what to do if confronted with situations of discrimination.
We had 25 BHSB students volunteered for the event, registering community members and serving refreshments to the guests in attendance. The students also participated, asking insightful and brilliant questions related to civil rights.
All DACA renewal applications for eligible recipients were due by October 5th, 2017
