CHCF SONYC youth participated in the fifth HISPA role models visit. Students had the opportunity to share with two of the HISPA Role Models, Aixa Acevedo, MA in public administration graduated from the National Urban Fellows (NUF) leadership development program and Luis Leon s a full-time student from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Luis studies Web and Information Systems, is a committee member for NJIT’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers as a member of both the Community Outreach and Webmaster committees. Both role models shared their professional experiences providing the students the opportunity for questions and establish a dialog about their educational path, challenges and successes.
Corporate Visits allow students to see where our sponsors work and explore careers with that corporation. Together, our programs expose students to career awareness/college readiness information as well as corporate and academic cultures, providing both the education and motivation necessary for academic and professional success.
